STANDING ON THE SIDELINES |
Have you ever gone to a sports event and seen children and young adults with disabilities on the sidelines watching the other children playing and having fun? Have you ever wondered what they were thinking? Why can’t I play? What’s the matter with me? What did I do? For a moment close your eyes and think. They could be my children they could be my grand children! |
SPECIAL TO THE FIELD OF DREAMS
Parents Sit On The Sidelines While Volunteers Assist Their Children.
Everyone Plays, Hits & Runs The Bases, Touches Home Plate, & Plays In The Outfield.
There Are Three (3) Innings In One (1) Hour For Each Age Group. Every Player’s Name Will Be Announced When Batting,
Making A Play In The Outfield And Crossing Home Plate.
No One Wins, No One Loses.
It’s Always A Tie. One Last Thing To Remember!

HOW IS
THE FIELD DESIGNED? |
The
Brevard field will have
the baseball diamond with a concrete base and an artificially covered infield. The field will be covered with a custom designed, cushioned, synthetic surface
that accommodates wheel chairs and other walking
assistive devices.
The stadium restrooms will be completely accessible to people with disabilities and will also include a family restroom with dressing tables and showers.
The dugouts will be designed so that those in wheel chairs, walkers and any other devices will have easy access to and from home plate. We would like to put the field under stadium lights so the league can play games at night when necessary.
27.5% or over
48,000 are disabled
in Brevard County Florida. |

WHO BENEFITS? |
The Brevard
Field of Dreams sports league is open to children, young adults
and adults with physical
and mental disabilities from Brevard county and other areas.
In the future, we hope to include families with disabled children
and young adults from a wide radius. |
